Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown DLC is out

Pearl Abyss released Charting the Unknown, the first major expansion for Crimson Desert, on October 29. It was originally planned for October 15, but the studio pushed it back two weeks to give the team more development time. The DLC unlocks worldwide at the same moment, so depending on your time zone it lands on October 29 or 30.

Beyond Pywel’s shores

The sea is at the heart of the expansion. You can now take the helm of your own ship, head out to open water and visit new islands off the coast of Pywel. Exploration doesn’t stop at the surface: with the new diving system you can descend to sunken ruins, buried treasure and secrets hidden beneath the waves.

New enemies on land and at sea

New regions bring new threats. The enemies you face on land and on the open sea are pitched as tough enough to make you rethink the tactics you know.

Business, housing and relationships

The expansion isn’t only about combat and exploration; it also adds new ways to leave your mark on Pywel:

• Running businesses: rent and manage various facilities to build a fortune.

• Revamped housing: the improved Housing mode lets you build a home that is truly yours.

• Deeper bonds: conversations with the people of Pywel open the way to stronger relationships with characters.

New stories for Kliff, Oongka and Damiane

On the story side, the three heroes each follow their own path. An ominous presence in the desert, a dangerous political struggle, a journey beyond time and an ancient secret hidden at the bottom of the sea are among the DLC’s main storylines.

Price and bonuses

Charting the Unknown costs $24.99 on the US Steam store and requires the base game. Pre-orders include the Charter’s Diving Set cosmetic for Kliff and Oongka and the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane.
